Your future

img_7726

Hello everyone,

I have reached the point in my life where some big decisions need to be made and these decisions could determine the rest of my future.

I have GCSE’s on the way and I need to make a decision on what I would like to take. Obviously I am taking core subjects as you have no choice and I am lucky enough to be in top set for all of these. Along with this I have been offered to take triple science which I have accepted meaning I will have to learn even more topics then the standard GCSE in the same amount of time which is definitely going to be a big challenge however I am determined to push through and get the highest mark possible.

On a different note I have to decide what options I would like to take. Now I feel as though I am quite a creative person and would hate to be stuck behind a desk with a shed-load of paperwork this is why I am leaning towards a career in design. The options I am stuck between is an interior designer and fashion designer along with this I am considering taking ‘Art and design’ , ‘Fashion and textiles’ and French as my options. For art and design there is a lot of coursework involved with high standards. Although this is intimidating I feel as though I am going to work through it and achieve my dream career.

I am sorry this was a rambly post with no real point but I would like to start keeping you guys updated about what’s going on.

If anyone has any information or advice on these design careers please let me know.

Larissa xoxo

Update 2017

Hey guys,

First off I would like to apologise for being unactive these past few months. The reason behind this is mostly down too me having to focus on school work but not only that, I started to feel like blogging was becoming a chore and I no longer looked forward to doing it which I think is wrong to continue doing so as the quality of my content would be nowhere near as good. However this year I am going to be starting up this blog again due to me not feeling down about it anymore. Once again I would like to say sorry for the lack of posts but there is definitely more on there way. Feel free to leave any suggestions down below on what you would like to see from me.

My Everyday Makeup Routine // Larissa_xoxo

Hello everyone,

So today’s post is on my everyday makeup routine!

I thought I would make a post on this as I have been using a couple of new products recently and absolutely adore them. Because of this they gradually made their way into my everyday makeup routine. This makeup look is quite light and dewy perfect for summer as well as creating a radiant glow.

Foundation

Collection illuminating touch Foundation~

This is one of my new finds which I have fell in love with. This foundation is super easy to apply and blend as well leaving the skin nice to touch. It brightens up your face as well as leaving it looking natural and healthy. As I am quite pale, it’s hard to find a foundation which matches that without leaving an orange pigment and this is without a doubt perfect for that and matches my skin tone perfectly.

My colour: 2 Ivory
Eyeshadow

W7 In the Nude Palette ~

This palette is my holy grail. It’s a dupe for the naked 2 palette however it is just as good and at a much cheaper, affordable price. The eyeshadow palette as a wide range of soft colours, perfect for summer, as well as an incredible pigment and lasting power.

The look:

I apply 1 all over the base of my lid following with 2 blended in the crease. Finally I apply 3 to my inner corner to brighten up my eyes with a soft glow.
Mascara

Rimmel London wonder’ful wake me up mascara ~

This mascara is phenomenal. It applies smoothly to the lashes, giving them a boost of moisture. The consistency is smooth and does not clump. The brush is a great design as it picks up each individual lash giving a voluminous, full finish.
Lips

Sleek Matte Me Lip cream (birthday suit) ~

For my lips I am loving sleeps matte me lip cream collection in particular the colour birthday suit as it gives a lovely matte finish without drying out the lips and having a gorgeous natural pink colour. I definitely think it brings the whole makeup look together.
That was my complete everyday makeup routine! I hope you liked it. You can obviously switch out some of the products and adapt it to how you prefer. You can leave me a comment recommending and other beauty product as I would love to try out some of them and see what all of you are using.

Quick & Easy cookie recipe // Larissa_xoxo

Hey everyone,

So today’s post is to do with food, one of my favourite topics.

I’m going to be telling you how to make easy cookies in super speedy time. You can change these up however you like but take 10 – 15 minutes to put the ingredients together and 15 minutes to bake.

I think these are perfect for when you’re in a rush and family or friends are coming over and you would like to put something home baked onto the table.

So let’s go!

Ingredients

  • 225g (8oz) butter, softened
  • 110g (4oz) caster sugar
  • 275g (10oz) plain flour

Optional

  • Add one teaspoon of spices (cinnamon, ginger, etc.)
  • 75g of chocolate chips

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 170 oC (375oF) or gas mark 3.
  2. Cream the butter in a large bowl or in a food mixer until it is soft. Add the sugar and beat the mixture until it is light and fluffy.
  3. Sift the flour into the mixture and add optional ingredients. Bring the mixture together in a figure of eight until it forms a dough.
  4. Using your hands, make walnut sized balls and place them slightly apart from each other on a tray (grease or line if necessary). Flatten the balls ever so slightly and bake them in the oven for around 15 minutes until they are golden brown and slightly firm on top.
  5. Place the cookies onto a cooling rack for 10 to 15 minutes. Once cool serve.
  6. Optional ~ whilst the cookies are cooling you can place chocolate pieces on top to add a little extra flavour and texture.

These are how mine turned out:

I hope you enjoyed this post and was helpful at all.

Easter make up

Hello everyone,

It’s been quite a while since my last post but I’ve got a great one for you today. It is my Easter makeup! You are probably thinking Larissa, Easter has been and gone. Yes I know, however I feel like that this look can be adapted into more of a casual look and maybe you have that late Easter party coming up. Who knows?

  1. For this look you will need a good foundation that doesn’t cake up or become oily. My go to foundation is the wake me up foundation by rimmel as it gives me just the right amount of coverage along with matching my skin type extremely well.
  2. Once the foundation is applied you may apply your go to concealer (mine is the collection 2000 concealer) and then set with a suitable powder. I would reccomend the rimmel stay matte powder as it holds your foundation in place all day.
  3. For the eyes I applied a baby blue across the whole lid with white around the inner corner to brighten up my eyes. Blending out from the blue into the crease I applied a deep violet to add some definition towards my eyes. To finish off I add some black winged liner with some waterproof mascara.
  4. On the lips I applied a natural pink colour in a lip pen form as it stays on my lips the longest covered with a pale pink gloss.

And that’s about it. It an extremely easy, simple look that looks like you put a lot of effort towards it. I hope this gave you some ideas for a make up look and was helpful.

What’s in my schoolbag

Hello everyone,

Today’s post is a what’s in my schoolbag. I was unsure whether or not this would be an interesting post but I thought oh well might as well give it ago.

To start of I have a floral white back pack from super dry (the one in the picture above) and I absolutely adore it. It’s the perfect size to store all your necessities and books in as well as being the perfect size to carry around. So I would definitely reccomend that one.

1) I always carry a pack of gum on me and my favourite flavour at the moment is wriggley’s bubblegum.

2) my pencil case (quite an obvious one)

3) My hairbrush as you never know what sort of weather conditions you may have to face that day and when your hair needs a bit of a fix.

4) my planner as I tend to record all my homework and notes in there.

5) my keys to enter my house 🙂

6) my headphones to listen to music when I’m allowed throughout the day.

7) my memory stick for homework purposes.

8) My purse for money to buy food at lunch.

9) Deodrant for when I have Pe lessons.

10) Lipbalm as my lips have been getting quite dry throughout the day lately.

That’s about it apart from I may have the few odd books here and there from some classes.

I hope you found that doe what interesting and as always if you have any questions just leave a comment.

we heart it

we heart it logo

Hello everyone, today’s post is all about we heart it!

I am extremely excited to share this with you guys as it has been one of those things which I have been obsessing over recently.

If you have never heard of we heart it, it is a visual social media site where you can post photos, like peoples photos, make collections, follow other people and so much more. The thing that I love most about it is, the way you can post pictures and people will like them. That makes you feel so happy, knowing that you have inspired someone enough to like your photo and add it to their collection for many others to see.

I have been using we heart it for around four days now and I am absoloutly head over heels for it. Beforehand I was obssessed with pinterest which is a pretty similar concept to we heart it. I still love pinterest and still use it however the thing that attracts me more to we heart it is mostly the layout and I feel as it is still quite new you are going to be getting the most updated pictures as well as people who are constantly posting and do not have a two year old account that they haven’t deactivated yet.

Being a teenager myself, I personally think it has the most up to date content for me as well as it having pictures of things that are on trend right now. And as I mentioned before, it has a beautiful layout and as there are so many active users, when you post a photo and people start to like it, it does make you feel good inside.

I posted a picture that was of a gorgeous dusty pink eye make-up look and I was outstounded to find out that it had gained 720+ likes the next morning! It made me feel great and kept me motivated to post more even if only one person likes it, it still makes you feel as though you are sharing things you like with the world and someone out there shares the same views as you.

At first I didn’t know quite how much i would be in love with this social platform but it amazed me and i dont think i will be leaving it anytime soon. I probably should have known I would adore it as I love, Pinterest, Instagram, etc, which are all visual, picture social- media sites.

So if you have not yet got yourself a we heart it account yet, I would highly reccomend going and getting one right now.

I apologise for the slightly rambly post, which probably contained the letter ‘I’ way to many times, but I hope it inspired you to try it out. If you would like to check what I have been posting on we heart it recently, my name is:
